Air Burner arriving at Superior Transfer Station

Air Burner arriving at Superior Transfer Station

On Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, the Town of Superior received a much needed and very special delivery to the transfer station – an Air Burner. The burner is made by Air Curtain burners. Model S16. It’s 20 feet long and 8 feet tall and 8 feet wide. The burner will burn up to four tons of green waste an hour with almost no smoke and very little emissions. Its home will be the Superior transfer station and the first six months of its service life will be remediating the 6,500 tons of green material currently stockpiled at the site. It will produce a biochar which can be used as fertilizer. And will later be used to mix with compose material to create top soil.
