The defending 1A State Champion Superior baseball team has won six of its last eight games after a season-opening 6 – 4 loss to Globe.
The Panthers defeated Mogollon 13 – 7 on the road last Tuesday for one of those six victories.
Superior had seven hits, including three from junior Jesus Castellanos, in addition to eight walks in the win.
Kale Major went 2-for-5 with five RBI. Gabe Otero drove in two runs, while Gabe Castillo, Steven Ybarra, and Nathan Duarte each had an RBI.
One the mound, Gabe Castillo and Daniel McConnell combined to allow three earned runs on five hits with 12 strikeouts and eight walks.
