Miners’ Kelly and Garcia named All-Division

San Manuel baseball players Shane Kelly and Anthony Garcia were named to the AIA All-Division IV Baseball Team. Both players were named All-Section previously. Kelly was also the Division IV, Section VI Player of the Year.

Kelly, a junior, batted a whopping .645 with 11 doubles, 2 triples, a homerun, and 30 RBI. He also had 26 stolen bases. Kelly ranked first in the section in batting average and runs. He was fourth in stolen bases.

Garcia, a 2014 graduate, batted .488 with 10 doubles, a triple, 4 homeruns, and 37 RBI. Garcia also dominated on the mound as the staff ace, going 9 – 2 with a 1.67 ERA. He recorded six complete games with two shutouts. He struck out 75. Garcia ranked first in Section VI in wins and ERA, second in strikeouts, and his 37 RBI ranked third.

The Miners won the Section VI Championship and reached the semi-finals of the state playoffs for the third straight season.
