Deanne Brewer, head coach of the back-to-back State Champion San Manuel softball team, will lead the South Team in the Becky Barris Memorial All Star Game Division III, IV. The game will be played on Saturday, June 14, 2014, in Show Low. Five players from Copper Corridor schools will compete for the South All-Stars.

“It’s a great experience for the girls and Show Low really treats us well,” Brewer said in an email to CopperArea.com. “They host the game and are just awesome.”

Felicia Gomez and Angelica Zuniga from San Manuel, Lucy Sainz from Ray, and Devin Estrada and Julissa Westrope from Hayden were selected to play in the game.

A full day of activities, including a two-hour practice, lunch for the players, a skills competition, and a team dance competition, precedes a doubleheader. The first game is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. Each game is eight innings.

The games are being played at the Show Low Softball Field at 500 W Old Linden Road.
