Some resourceful homeowners in the Lobb Ave. neighborhood caught a burglary on video and now two Superior women are facing charges.
Andrea Velasquez, 47, and Michelle Duarte, 28, were arrested at a residence in the 200 block of N. Lobb Ave. after Superior Police Officer Lawrence noticed lights off at the residence. Lawrence was on patrol just after midnight on April 17. He investigated the property and discovered Velasquez and Duarte at the location. He detained the two and requested assistance from the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office.
When the deputies arrived, they conducted a thorough search of the residence with help from Officer Nardelli and his K9 partner.
Velasquez and Duarte were charged with burglary and criminal trespass. Velasquez faces an additional theft charge. Duarte, it was discovered, had an active warrant sworn out against her issued out of Gila County. Both were transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail in Florence.
