Mammoth Police Report

According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

Items are given to theSan Manuel Minerby the Mammoth Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

Aug. 13

A 911 call was received. A woman reported that she was stuck in her car in the river bed crossing by the softball field. Mammoth Towing was contacted to assist the woman.

A report was received that some kids were driving recklessly when the school bus is dropping off kids.

Aug. 14

The Mammoth Fire Department was notified about a request for assistance to fight a structure fire. A house was on fire in Dudleyville. Mammoth Fire responded.

Aug. 15

A woman reported a suspicious noise around her house on Dungan Street. She took a look and saw a man walking around her house. An officer responded but the male subject was gone and could not be located.

A concerned citizen reported he could hear children playing and what appeared to be the sound of firecrackers at the Mammoth Elementary School. An officer responded and did a sweep of the school property. The children could not be found.

A gas leak was reported on S. Rolf Avenue. A fire engine and Southwest Gas responded.

A wrong-way driver in a cream colored passenger car was reported on Hwy. 77. An officer responded and made contact with the vehicle driver. The report was turned over to Arizona Department of Public Safety.

Aug. 18

A concerned citizen reported a suspicious white truck parked across the street from her house on Dungan St. An officer responded and checked the vehicle which was locked. He told the woman it must have just gotten there as he had driven by earlier and did not see it. The officer said he would make regular checks on the vehicle throughout the night.

Calls not listed include: medical (13), animal complaint (5), warrant entered/cleared (1), fire (4), loud music (2) and vacation house check/welfare check (1).
