Beatrice Munguia Casillas

Beatrice Casillas of Superior, Arizona, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016.

She was known and loved by many as Bea, Mom, Tia Bea, Nana Bea and Grandma Bea. Born May 10, 1926, she was the last surviving sibling of nine brothers and sisters. Bea met and married her childhood friend, Joe Casillas, in the town of Superior. Together they raised  three sons, Billy, Steve and John. Bea and Joe enjoyed keeping their family active in sports, community events and church.

Bea worked hard in everything she did. When she wasn’t raising her boys, being a Den Mother, taking care of her gardens, cooking meals, and working at the local insurance company, she loved teaching people of all ages how to read and write.

Bea found the most joy in God, her family, and friends. She loved the constant company of her family, especially the happy chaos of her seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She loved her grandchildren unconditionally and shared a unique bond with each and every one of them.

Beatrice was a woman of love, faith, patience, a woman who protected, provided and did so effortlessly. She was a true example of what it is to be humble, genuine and selfless.

A ceremony to remember her life and celebrate her new life as she enters into the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior will be held Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, in Superior. Services will be at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church – 490 Main St. Superior, AZ 85173. Rosary is at 10 a.m. and Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.
