Pete Rios, Pinal County Supervisor and vice-chairman, last week made a sizable presentation to the Hayden Senior Center.

He was greeted warmly by Annie Hinojos, Hayden Senior Center, Jeremy Garcia, Hayden Town Council and Gloria Ruiz, Hayden Town Council. Rios presented the Town of Hayden a donation of $40,000 to assist the town with services for the senior citizens.

“I wanted to thank Hayden Senior Center for helping our elderly,” Rios said, “when I say our elderly I include Hayden, Winkelman. They also serve Pinal County elderly. When (the) Superior Senior Center was in trouble, Hayden Senior Center bailed them out and they are still working on it. They service people in Kearny, Dudleyville, Mammoth, San Manuel, Oracle, Catalina and all the way to the SaddleBrooke line.”

After the check was awarded, Rios met with some of the local seniors at the Hayden Senior Center and even had lunch with local residents.
