Matthew York, son of Justin and Kerri Hune, was recently diagnosed with two different forms of Leukemia, AML and ALL. He started his first rounds of aggressive chemotherapy two weeks ago and his medical needs will be extensive and a hardship on the family.

Matthew is a second grader at Ray Elementary. He loves sports of all kinds but most importantly he loves spending time with his parents and two brothers.

To help his family with the costs that will continue to add up over the course of this “Fight for Matthew,” there have been two GoFundMe pages set up here and here. There is also a donation account set up at Ray Federal Credit Union.

Bracelets are being sold for $3 each and can be ordered and paid for at Cactus Mini Mart, Ray Elementary Office, Kearny Health Mart or West End Café. One hundred percent of the bracelet sales proceeds will go to the family.

There is also a T-Shirt Fundraiser going on. Orange shirts have been ordered to support Matthew.  They can be preordered or after preorders are filled the extras can be purchased. All order forms and pickups will be at Cactus Mini Mart. There will be all kid’s sizes and adult sizes available. Seeing a lot of little orange shirts running around town supporting Matthew and his fight against Leukemia will mean so much to his family.  In support of Matthew some kids would like to wear Orange to school at RUSD for the Fight against Leukemia on Thursdays.

There is another shirt fundraiser online setup by Kerri’s cousin and those shirts can be ordered through her Facebook page.

Window Clings for cars are being made and will be available for purchase at the RUSD District Office as soon as they come in.

Kearny Little League will be selling orange ribbon pins starting Pioneer Days at the concession stand.

If you have questions you can contact Kristina Ruiz at kristina@cnsigroup.net. The family has requested that all fundraisers be coordinated through Kristina Ruiz.

Thank you to everyone for your continued support, donations and prayers for Matthew! He is an amazingly special boy and so many people have shown that to his parents. Kerri and Justin are truly overwhelmed with the love and support they are continuously receiving from everyone.
