Supporting a legendary resident, Florence Aldrete

One of the things that Superior does best is supporting our local residents who need help no matter what the need may be. A legendary resident, Florence Aldrete, is in need of prayers and financial support. A few weeks ago she was diagnosed with cancer and her illness is not allowing her to her work as a waitress and bartender at Los Hermanos.

Florence is one of those people in town that everyone knows. She is spunky and caring and she never misses a beat. She knows what’s going on and she knows what needs to be done. She is a single mother and many times opened her home to other relatives who needed a place to stay. On any day you met up with her she could turn your frown into a smile just the way she carries herself, and now its time to give back to Florence.

Friends and family are planning a benefit tardeada fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015 at the Los Hermanos Ballroom. The event will begin at 1 p.m. and run until 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person including children or $25 a couple. Tickets include dinner and dancing. There will be raffle tickets sold and items auctioned. For more information on the event or to donate items for raffles or auctions please contact Richard Tameron at 520-689-5465 or Rosie Tameron at 480-695-1976.
