Superior Fire Department offers free smoke detectors

Through donations by Capstone Mining Corp., OMYA Arizona Inc., and Home Depot, the Superior Fire Department is able to offer free smoke detectors to residents of one, two and three family houses in Superior. Working smoke alarms provide early warning of danger and are the single most important step in preventing fatal fires. They double the chances of surviving a fire. All residents and visitors should be protected by smoke detectors.

Those interested can obtain these free detectors in person at the Superior Fire Department, 236 Golf Course Rd., Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If you are unable to come and pick up your detectors, or the crew is away on a call, you can call 689-5671 to have them delivered to you. Supplies are limited, and detectors will be provided on a first-come first-served basis. You will need to show proof of residency in the form of a utility bill or identification card listing a Superior address, and you will need to complete a short form.

Thanks again to Capstone Mining, OMYA and Home Depot for their generous support and commitment to the safety of the residents of Superior.
