Superior Council plans two days of cleaning

The Superior Cemetery needs some love and care. The Council and friends plan a clean up on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Superior Sun

It’s time to honor our Veterans and families by having a Cemetery Clean up. On Oct. 31, at 8 a.m. the Rotarians, OMYA and Superior School Students will be working cleaning up the Superior cemetery. Then on Nov. 1, at 7 a.m. the mayor, council, Superiorites, Rotarians and approximately 200 youth from the LDS Church plan to clean up the Superior cemetery.

If you have any materials to help with the clean up please bring them; weed-eaters, tools, trash bags and gloves. Please volunteer some of your time and join the mayor, council, residents and United Superiorites in cleaning the cemetery.

Saving the graves is strongly committed to the protection of human burial sites from unauthorized and unwarranted disturbance, by man or nature. The Town of Superior believes that the willful desecration or destruction of human burial sites is unacceptable in our community. It is our objective to highlight the importance and promote an attitude and respect, while encouraging further preservation of the cemetery.

Many community members complain about the trash and debris in the cemetery. Now is the time to get out and help each other clean the resting place for the many Veterans and family members who are at peace in the cemetery. Let’s all work together to get our cemetery spruced up!

All volunteers are welcome and appreciated. For additional information please feel free to visit the Superior Town’s Website at www.superior-arizona.com or call 520-689-5752. We look forward to everyone’s volunteerism and support with the Cemetery Clean Up Project!
