San Manuel quarterback Caleb Quintero was named the 2A Conference Freshman of the Year by AllSportsTucson.com.
Quintero, who was one of three Miners selected to the 2A All-Southern Arizona All-Stars second-team offense, threw for more than 1,300 yards and five touchdowns while completing nearly 74 percent of his passes.
Sophomore wide receiver Rey Martinez and junior offensive lineman Armando Estrada joined Quintero in receiving All-Stars honors.
Quintero was also one of four Miners named to the All-Freshman team. Wide receiver Benny Laguna, lineman Abel Aguirre and defensive back Cesar Guerrero were named to the All-Freshman team as well.
