Norman Bilberry, 74, of Young, Arizona, passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2016, following a long illness.
Norman graduated from Superior High School in 1960 and served as a Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputy in Superior, Kearny, San Manuel and Maricopa. He retired with 20 years of service at the United States Post Office in Apache Junction.
He was a member of the Apache Junction Jaycees and the Lost Dutchman Days Rodeo Committee. He loved to hunt, fish and camp. He was an excellent cook and was especially good at barbecue and red chili.
Norman loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lillie Bilberry, and his grandson, Tyrel Bilberry.
He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Ruth (née Scheetz); son, Bradley Bilberry of Montrose, CO; daughters, Lana Rennels of Las Vegas and Kari Haught of Young; sisters, Earleen Andrews of Lakeside, AZ, and Nancy Woolford of Apache Junction; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services were held on Nov. 5 at the Young Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 3, at 2 p.m. at the Young Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 48412 Hwy 288, Young, AZ 85554.
