Fabulous food, fun and even a mining competition are on tap for the second weekend in March and with two great festivals taking place, fun-seekers will have a plethora of choices.

On March 13-15 Superior will host the 27th annual Apache Leap Mining Festival.

The carnival is coming to town along with Bobby Cook and his band, Wyatt Earp, Dineh Tah Navajo Dancers, parade, the ever-popular chihuahua races, mining competition and much more. Enjoy the free entertainment on the stage on the main street of Superior! Play the carnival games and munch on fried dough, ice cream, hot dogs, hamburgers and more. Visit the informational booths of various companies, towns and non-profit organizations. And walk the Mining History Trail at the Magma Arizona Railroad caboose on Highway 60.

The theme this year is “Celebrating the Copper Communities” of Superior, Miami, Globe, Kearny, Hayden, Winkelman, Mammoth, Florence, Dudleyville, San Manuel and Oracle. The festival is a great time for folks to get together from all the copper towns to have fun, remember the past, and work toward a prosperous future.
