Leonor Hambly K-8 has National Junior Honor Society induction

On Tuesday, May 19, Leonor Hambly K-8 held its 2015-2016 National Junior Honor Society inductions. Mrs. Laura E. Lopez acted as sponsor.

Current members: President Angelita Casillas, Secretary Samantha Waddell, Treasurer Robert Casillas, Kayla Islava, Sierrah Bainter, Clarissa Gonzalez, Cassandra Lopez, Javier Lopez, Ariana Pacheco, Symone Placencio, Marissa Barragan, Manny Guillen, Sebastian Hathaway, and Sarrah Perez received certificates and lanyards.

Eighth grade members, Angelita, Robert, Kayla and Sierrah were presented with their honor cords from Superintendent Jeff Gregorich.

New inductees included: Pablo Acuna, Chloe Canisales, Devina Estrada, Lyana Romero, Mia Barragan, Hannah Bonner, Greace Corona, Miranda Gomez, Aiyana Gonzales, Jennifer Gregorich and A.J. Lopez.

Being a member of NJHS is about more than academic excellence, though that is an important part of what it takes to be a member. Students must also show their commitment to self improvement and to improving their community. They serve as ambassadors that represent their school and their community, while learning effective leadership skills, networking skills, and, working on building their future.
