The fifth-ranked San Manuel softball team improved to 4 – 0 in the 2A South Region after wins versus San Miguel and Miami last week. The Lady Miners have a two-game lead in the region standings ahead of both Miami and Desert Christian.

Senior Dionne Ruiz had two hits and five RBI while sophomore Brianna Galarza had a pair of hits and drove in three runs in the 13 – 3 victory at Miami last Friday. Clarissa Lizarraga and Cassandra Guerrero also had two hits. Senior Daniel Guerrero had three hits, including one of three doubles hit by the Lady Miners in the game.
Nikki Baldenegro earned the complete-game win, allowing three runs – one earned – on two hits with nine strikeouts and no walks.
