Booster Club presents Tourney Champs shirts

The championship team shows off their new shirts thanks to the Ray Bearcat Booster Club.

Kearny – Ray Bearcat Booster Club presented the Ray 8th Grade Girls basketball team with tournament Champions shirts. The girls completed a perfect season finishing 10-0. On Saturday, Jan. 31they competed in the Central Junior High League Tournament where they played the San Carlos Braves 1st round and defeated the Braves 42-30. The girls advanced to play High Desert for the Championship and beat High Desert 42-19.

Coached by Jason Cude and Wayne Cude, the team outscored their opponents during the season 300-82, completing their Junior High careers going 19-1. Leading scorers for the season were Shelby Yocum with 133 points, Tara Meza with 72 points, Julie Meza with 50 points, and Daniella Hinojos with 21 points.

For their excellent season the Ray Bearcat Booster club presented them with t-shirts to recognize their outstanding season and tournament win.
