Lobos to face Bagdad in 1A semifinals

  They defeated Bagdad last year to become the 2023 1A State Champions and their fans have faith that the boys will can beat them again this year to advance into the finals.

  On Saturday, May 4, the Hayden baseball team continued their quest for the 1A baseball state championship game, hosting Desert Heights Prep in the quarterfinals playoff game.

  The Lobos started the first inning posting 1 run and giving up none. The second inning saw the boys post 1 more run, keeping the Yotes off of the scoreboard. No runs were scored by either team during the third inning.

  In the fourth inning the Yotes were able to post 1 run. The Lobos bit back in the fifth inning, posting 4 runs, followed by 3 runs in the sixth inning. The game ended with a Lobo victory,andafinalscoreof9-1.

  The Lobos will advance into the semifinals, where they will take on the number 1 seed, the Bagdad Sultans. The game will be at the Goodyear Baseball Complex- South on May 10, with a start time of 6 p.m. Tickets are available at: https://gofan.co/ event/1506778.
