The Kearny Volunteer Fire Department received a fire truck donated to them by the City of Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department. Deputy Chief Andrea Glass came to Kearny for the presentation. The Town Council voted to accept the truck at the Council meeting held on Wednesday September 2. They thanked Chief Glass and the City of Tempe for the donation.
The truck is a Saulsbury Pumper with a 500 gallon water tank and 1,250 gallons per minute (gpm) pumper. Included with the truck was 1,200 feet of brand new 21/2 inch hose, a full complement of ladders including a 24 foot and a 14 foot ladder as well as an attic ladder.
