Joseph Lynton Weller Jr.

  Joseph Lynton Weller Jr. was born in Grundy, Virginia on June 19, 1933 and passed away July 31, 2017.

  He was a graduate from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering.  He moved to Kearny, AZ in 1967 to take a job as an electrical engineer at the ASARCO mine and became an electrical manager.

  Joe was the husband of Peggy Weller (deceased in 2008) and is survived by his two daughters and two granddaughters, Cathy Weller Woolery (Kearny Town Clerk), Patricia Fontes-Echeverri, Teresa Fontes, and Lauren Woolery. His younger brother Richard D. Weller and wife Phyllis reside in Maryland.

  Joe was involved in VIPS, Food Box, and was Citizen of the Year in 2012. He was a long-term member of The Church of the Good Shepherd where he was the church Treasurer and the leader and organizer of the Nomads. He was always there for anyone who needed his help and truly loved his community and family.

  He will be greatly missed by those who love him. Joe was a kind, generous man who lived his life with a gentle southern touch.
  Services will be held at The Church of the Good Shepherd on Saturday Aug. 12, 2017 at 2 p.m.
