The San Manuel Miners cross country team hosted the San Manuel Invitational meet on Sept. 12 with several competitive schools taking part.
Miner runners taking part were for boys’ varsity; Wayne Newman took seventeenth place with a time of 20:20.8, Jared Gonzales eighteenth place 20:21.4, Nathaniel Lopez twenty-third place 20:49.7, Patrick Lopez thirtieth place 21:23.0, Marty Rodriguez thirty-third place 21:31.7 and Colton Stratton thirty-seventh place 22:24.1.
For the boys Junior Varsity, James Duarte took third place with a time of 21:53.0, Tyler Yazzie ninth 23:09.7, Marco Salas twelfth 23:55.3, Breyden Main sixteenth 24:54.2, Carlos Salas twentieth 26:21.1, and Omar Gallego 27:34.7.
For the Girls Varsity, Maritza Estrada placed twenty-second with a time of 28:38, Selena Duarte twenty-third 28:48, and Jessica Lopez thirty-third 32:10.
The Miners competed at the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Meet on Sept. 19, the boys’ varsity placed fifth out of eight teams.
Competing for the Boys Varsity, Jared Gonzales 19:39, Wayne Newman 19:54, Nathaniel Lopez 19:56, Patrick Lopez 20:23, Marty Rodriguez 20:51, James Duarte 21:26, and Colton Stratton 22:26.
Running for the Boys JV, Armando Sierra 21:18, Breyden Main 23:10, Marco Salas 23:11, Carlos Salas 25:31, and Omar Gallego 26:35.
Competing for the Girls Varsity team were Selena Duarte 29:06 and Maritza Estrada 30:42.
Running for the Girls JV team were Diana Medina 28:40 and Jessica Lopez 30:21.
