Arizona-based mining company, Resolution Copper, today named Victoria (“Vicky”) Peacey as the project’s new President and General Manager, responsible for overseeing all aspects of planning, development and operations.
A longtime copper and mining industry veteran who has served as acting Project Director since the summer, Peacey has held a number of leadership roles at Resolution Copper and Rio Tinto, which she joined in 2002. Most recently, Peacey was Chief of Staff to the Chief Operating Officer for Rio Tinto Copper. Her previous roles at Resolution Copper include Senior Manager Community and External Affairs as well as Senior Manager Permitting and Cultural Heritage, where she played a key role in community engagement and technical studies that built strong local support for the project. Earlier in her career, Peacey held a variety of operations and environmental positions with Rio Tinto Kennecott and Barneys Canyon in Utah and Kennecott Eagle Minerals in Michigan.
