Mary Eleanor Villegas

  Mary Eleanor Villegas, 92, passed away of natural causes at the home of her daughter Mary Lou in East Mesa.

  Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Oton A. Villegas, and her siblings, Anna Belle Cobo and Joe Kerlock.

  She is survived by her sister, Eva Rivera; children, Oton (Virginia) Villegas, Lila (Carlos) Garcia, Mary Lou (Phillip) Verdugo and Art (Pat) Villegas; 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

  Mary graduated from Hayden High School then went on to graduate from Durham Business College in Tucson. She worked as a medical secretary at the ASARCO clinic for many years.  During this time, she also enjoyed bowling, sewing, crocheting, working in her yard and watching western movies and game shows. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and word find. Most of all she loved spending time with her large family.

  Services for Mary will be held at San Pedro Valley Baptist Church in Dudleyville on Saturday, May 21 at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Dudleyville Cemetery.

  The family was helped by Mariposa Gardens in East Mesa which handled all the arrangements.
