Bearcats stymied by Valley Union’s offense, defense

  The Bearcats football team traveled to Valley Union last Friday to start their season. Unfortunately, the team was unable to come home with the victory.

  The Bearcats had a hard time keeping Valley Union’s offense pinned down, and by the second quarter they were already down by 16 points. Valley Union played a tough defense, not letting any of the Bearcats through, until the last quarter, when the ‘Cats put 8 points on the scoreboard.

  Although the game ended with a 8-28 score, it is only the beginning of the season.

  The Bearcats will travel to San Manuel on Friday, Aug. 27. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. This will be the Miners’ first game of the season.

  If you cannot show your support for the Bearcats in person, the game can be watched via livestream on nfhsnetwork.com.
