Delia Aguirre Benavidez passed away on Feb. 16, 2021. After a long and courageous battle with liver disease, she ultimately contracted COVID-19, to which her untimely death is attributed. She was born to Manuel B. and Grace Aguirre on May 25, 1953.

After high school graduation, Delia married Robert “Tin”, the love of her life, on Dec. 3, 1971.

On Feb. 5, 1973 their first daughter, Robbie, was born. On Dec. 13, 1976, their second daughter, Kim, was born. Soon the grandkids came beginning with Derrick, Caesar, Alianna, and Dionna. Tin and Delia ultimately adopted their grandchildren.

Sadly, tragedy struck the family when Robbie lost her battle with cancer. It was the saddest day of their lives. Through perseverance Tin and Delia pushed forward, raising their grandchildren. It wasn’t easy but they overcame all the obstacles that came their way. Throughout this time, Delia managed her health issues by Tin staying by her side until the end.
She worked at the Hayden drugstore for many years and in Magistrate Court in Hayden and Globe for many years.

Delia is preceded in death by her parents and precious daughter, Robbie.
She leaves behind her husband, Tin; daughters, Kim, Alianna and Dionna; sons, Derrick and Caesar; sister, Beckie; brothers, Manuel and Bobby; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family had a private Celebration of Life on Saturday, Feb. 27.
