Alex ‘Curly’ Quintana Lopez

  Alex “Curly” Quintana Lopez, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went to be with our Lord and Savior on Jan. 27, 2021.

  He was born in Hayden, AZ on July 17, 1940 to Anita Quintana Lopez and Faustino C. Lopez. Alex met the love of his life, Molly Garcia Lopez in San Manuel, AZ. They were married on Nov. 24, 1960. After residing in Hayden, AZ for 15 years, they moved to Tucson where they spent the remainder of their lives.

  They were parishioners of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and took great honor in practicing the Catholic faith and instilling it in their children.

  Alex was known for his positive nature and clever wit. He was a very devoted husband and that same devotion flowed upon his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alex took tremendous joy in being surrounded by all of the children his family blessed him with as they surely were the pride of his life.

  He is preceded in death by his loving bride of 55 years, Molly G. Lopez, and siblings, Enrique, Jose, Octavio, Rafael, Faustino Q. Lopez, Armida Lopez Garcia, Anita Lopez Noriega, and Lydia Lopez Juarez.

  He is survived by his son, Alex Lopez Jr; daughter, Lisa L. Santa Maria; grandchildren, Phillip, Alex, Enrique Lopez, Alexis Gurule and Mariah Baca, Cassandra Montijo, Sharisse Ochoa, Tony Jr, Devin and Garrett Santa Maria, as well as 17 great-grandchildren. Alex is also survived by siblings Alicia, Alfonso, Rudolfo Lopez and Josie Lopez Lagunas.

  Celebration of his life will be held in a private manner due to COVID-19 restrictions. Your understanding in this matter is greatly appreciated. A larger celebration of Alex’s life is planned for a later date pending the safety of those in attendance.
