Audra ‘Peg’ Radcliffe

Audra W. “Peg” Radcliffe, 87, died Sept. 4, 2020 peacefully in her bed at By Your Side Senior Living facility in Apache Junction, AZ.  A Celebration of Life for the long time Kearny resident will be held at the Kearny Senior Center on Friday, Oct. 16, from 2-5 p.m.

Peg was born June 14, 1933, in Orton, West Virginia, to Otis and Bertha Moore (every birthday she stated they were putting flags out to celebrate her birthday).  Peg lived a long and fulfilling life doing many things that she loved dearly: spending time with her family, traveling the country on the motorcycle with her husband Lyman, watching her large extended family grow, sewing and most importantly her walk with the Lord.  Peg was an avid collector of FROGs (all around the house and in her garden), which she translated to Fully Rely On God.  She dedicated much of her time ministering to God, from teaching Sunday School to handling church finances.

Peg grew up in Rochester, Ohio where she met and eventually married her husband Lyman in 1952.  They started their married life in New London, Ohio where she was a devoted wife and mother, homemaker and worked many years as a seamstress at C.E. Ward and Kent Sporting goods.  In 1969, the family moved out west to the state of Arizona where they eventually landed in Kearny.  Peg spent many years working at the General Kearny Inn and at the Ray school cafeteria where she eventually retired.  She was well known in the community with her involvement with the church, attending many school sporting events with Lyman and if you ever had any sewing done it’s likely she was your seamstress.

Peg is survived by her sons, Dan (Louise), Ron (Cynthia) and Dennis (Ann) Radcliffe; daughter, Debra (Robert) Soules; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Peg dealt with different ailments over the years so as an alternative to sending flowers, if you would like to make a charitable contribution in her name please do so by visiting the American Heart Association website at: http://bit.ly/ForPeg.
