This letter is in partial response to Pat Payton’s letter to the editor, dated 11-15-2017, but it is more to provide additional information to Pinal County residents in the Copper Basin area about trash services available.
Pinal County will continue to help the Town of Kearny with free dump days at the Kearny transfer station, since many folks utilizing the service are from rural county communities. The new program will provide this service every other month, since R.A.D. trash service is also providing Kearny residents with free bulk-trash dump days, pending Kearny Town Council approval.
Additionally if you contact my Mammoth Office (520-866-7830) and bring by or email us a current utility receipt, we will issue all Pinal County residents 3 free vouchers (for one full pick-up truck each) to dump bulk-trash at the Dudleyville Landfill. For more information regarding the voucher program please contact my office.
Thirdly, Pinal County intends to continue (annual or bi-annual) community clean-up days where all Pinal County residents can take as much bulk-trash, as they can fit in their trucks and/or trailers or both to the Dudleyville landfill. These clean-up days will continue to be advertised in the local paper and posted at the post offices.
I and my colleagues on the Board of Supervisors are doing all that we can within our budget to discourage and prevent “wild-cat” dumping in our deserts. Hope this information helps.
