Clyde William McCroskey
Clyde William McCroskey, 95, of Kearny AZ, passed away the morning of Nov. 3, 2017.
Clyde, also known as Jr., was born June 29, 1922 in Bisbee, Arizona where he lived until the age of 14. His family relocated to Ray, Arizona. There he graduated from Ray High School. After graduation he enlisted into the Army Air Force where he gained experiences of the latter part of WWII.
Clyde finished his education with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture through the University of Arizona. He worked for Kennecott Mineral Company for many years primarily as a surveyor.
In the year 1954, on Aug. 25, Clyde married Virginia Putnam and the couple had three sons thereafter, Michael, Donald Mark, and Guy Mathew.
Clyde retired with Kennecott in the engineering department as a project supervisor. After retirement he continued to provide his mining knowledge contracting with ASARCO Ray Unit.
Clyde is preceded in death by his sons, Guy Mathew McCroskey, Michael William McCroskey, and great-grandson Caolan Kyle McCroskey.
He is survived by his sister, Sarah E. Zamecki; his wife, Virginia; son, Donald Mark; granddaughter, Brooke; grandson, Joseph; and six great-grandchildren.
Jr. was looked upon for his courage, strength, and knowledge. A man’s man. He will be forever missed.
In Honor of Clyde, Jr., the family asks that in lieu of flowers for you to donate to your local veterans charity.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Kearny. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with the funeral service following at 11 a.m.
