Helen Dickinson Moxcey passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Lund Family Hospice Home in Gilbert.

Helen was born on May 14, 1917 to Frank and Hulda Dickinson in Cottonwood, AZ. The Dickinson’s were a true Arizona pioneer family and Helen embodied that spirit of determination and fortitude. She received a teaching degree from Tempe Normal School, now known as ASU.

They later moved to Superior, Arizona where their daughter Diana was born. They lived 10 years in Superior, and then moved to Apache Junction, Arizona where she spent many years teaching elementary school. She retired in 1982 and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.

Helen is survived by a daughter Diana Rowe, two grandsons, Christopher Moxcey and Michael Moxcey, granddaughter Jessica Peterson, three great grandchildren, and a sister Mattie Brashears.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, with viewing an hour prior at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, 7900 E. Main Street, Mesa, AZ 85207. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Hospice of the Valley
