Kearny Police Report – April 20, 2016

According to state law, there are two methods by which police may arrest suspected offenders. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damages are estimates.

Apr. 11

  A welfare check was requested on the 200 block of Ivanhoe.

  Citizen assist with a fingerprinting request.

  Animal complaint concerning clean-up of neighbor’s yard on the 100 block of Hartford.

Apr. 12

  A violation of a court order was reported on the 300 block of Hartford.

  Harassment by phone was reported on the 300 block of Danbury.

  A civil standby was requested at Ray Elementary School.

Apr. 13

  A welfare check was requested on the 400 block of Jamestown.

  Elvis Scroggs, 38 of Kearny, was arrested on a warrant. He was transported to Florence and booked into the Pinal County Adult Detention Center.

Apr. 14

  A fire was reported near the railroad tracks. On investigation it was confirmed a control burn.

  A welfare check was requested on the 400 block of Jamestown concerning a truancy report.

  A juvenile problem was reported on the 300 block of Danbury.

  A possible fight was reported on the 200 block of Jamestown.

  Cattle was reported on the roadway of Hwy 177.

  A welfare check was requested on Alden Rd. concerning a possible intoxicated subject on the ground.

Apr. 15

  A welfare check was requested on Hwy 177 concerning a possible passed out subject.

Apr. 16

  A warning was issued on the 300 block of Alden.

  Suspicious activity was reported at the Kearny Airport concerning a beer can found in the middle of the runway.

  Agency assist to Hayden Police Department with an arrest in Winkelman.

  Agency assist to Hayden Police Department with an arrest in Hayden.

  Report of a possible fire near Stevens Trailer Port.

  Report of possible gun shots fired in the vicinity of the 100 block of Allen Rd. Negative contact.

  Suspicious activity was reported in the Kearny area concerning a vehicle following another vehicle around town.

Apr. 17

  Motorist assist with a disabled vehicle on Alden Rd.

  A noise disturbance concerning loud music was reported on the 300 block of Essex.

  During the period of Apr. 11 to Apr. 17 there were eight ambulance runs, and one alarm drop.
