On Sunday, April 13, a total of 66 young ladies took the stage to compete in the Cinderella Scholarship Program and Pageant State Open. Among them were four young ladies from the Copper Basin area, and two from San Tan Valley.
Veronica Baez competed in the Cinderella Tot category and placed as second alternate in the Cinderella Tot Personality, while Marissa Baez placed third alternate in the Cinderella Beauty category. Since Veronica and Marissa are the daughters of a co-director they are unable to compete in the local pageant and must compete at the State Open or at the State Finals. They are the daughters of Dolores and Paul Baez.
Maria Avenetti, daughter of Lorna and Gabriel Avenetti, won the State Open Overall Cinderella Woman title.
Kayline Pacheco, Pinal County Overall Miss, a score sheet participant, was unable to attend.
Participating from San Tan Valley were Emily and Samantha Meeks, daughters of Tanya Ruth and Brian Meeks. Emily placed third alternate in the talent in the Miniature Miss division, while Samantha won the photogenic title in the teen division.
All five girls will attend the Cinderella State Finals at the Hilton El Conquistador in Tucson, in June, with the Pinal County Cinderella Delegation.
