The train’s a’comin’

Mammoth residents will soon hear the sound of a train horn. Last week, crews from BHP’s San Manuel Railway reinstalled the crossing arms and worked on the crossing lights at the railroad crossing on Highway 77 between Mammoth and San Manuel Junction. Officials at BHP’s SMRY said that a new engine is on order and the train will begin running. Check back for more details. (John Hernandez photo)
