Superior Police Report – Sept.21, 2016

  According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

  Items are given to The Superior Sun by the Superior Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

Sept. 2

  Angelica M. Martinez, 22, Superior, was arrested in the 700 block of Main St. and was charged with criminal trespassing. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail in Florence.

  Carlos A. Casias, 26, Superior, was arrested in the 700 block of Main St. and was charged with criminal trespassing. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Sept. 3

  Theft was reported in the 600 block of Sonora St.

  A narcotics violation was reported in the 600 block of Porphyry St.

Sept. 4

  John Paul Duarte, 52, Superior, was arrested in the 500 block of Kiser St. and was charged with possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Theft was reported in the 500 block of U.S. Hwy. 60.

Sept. 5

  Christopher M. Miranda, 26, Superior, was arrested in the area of Magma Ave. and Main St. and was charged with assault/DV (domestic violence) and disorderly conduct/DV. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Theft was reported in the 300 block of Neary Ave.

Sept. 7

  An accident without injuries occurred in the 300 block of Palma St.

  Jesus M. Garcia, 59, Superior, was arrested in the area of Stansberry Ave. and Porphyry St. and was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs for sale. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Sept. 8

  Russell W. French, 34, Superior, was arrested in the 600 block of Brown St. and was charged with aggravated assault. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Angeles Morales-Villanueva, 49, Superior, was arrested in the 500 block of U.S. Hwy. 60 and was charged with shoplifting. He was cited and released.

  Violation of a court order was reported in the 300 block of Kiser St.

Sept. 9

  Michael J. Woods, 35, Globe, was arrested in the 500 block of W. Hwy. 60 and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Morgan D. Powell, 26, Globe, was arrested in the 500 block of U.S. Hwy. 60 and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and shoplifting. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Dustin S. Pena, 40, Globe, was arrested in the 500 block of U.S. Hwy. 60 and was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Burglary was reported in the 200 block of Magma Ave.

  Bieanno Macias, 23, Superior, was arrested in the 200 block of Stone Ave. and was charged with child abuse. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Gary M. Montiel, 33, Superior, was arrested in the 200 block of Stone Ave. and was charged with driving on a revoked license. He was cited and released.

Sept. 11

  Shalet M. Dillard, 28, Globe, was arrested in the 500 block of U.S. Hwy. 60 and was charged with shoplifting. She was cited and released.

Sept. 12

  Earlene M. Gutierez, 18, Superior, was arrested in the 600 block of Porphyry St. and was charged with disorderly conduct/DV. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

Sept. 14

  Kristal N. Cardenas, 30, Superior, was arrested in the 500 block of U.S. Hwy. 60 and was charged with shoplifting. She was cited and released.

Sept. 15

  Daniel R. Olmos, 30, Superior, was arrested in the area of Heiner Dr. and Magma Ave. on a Pinal County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to appear. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Violation of a court order was reported in the 400 block of Main St.

  Calls not listed include traffic stop (32), disturbance (6), agency assist (5), alarm drop (8), information (12), animal complaint (5), welfare check (7), traffic hazard (2), medical (2), civil matter (6), trespassing (1), 911 hang-up (2), fraud (1), attempt to locate (3), threatening (1) citizen assist (1) and suspicious activity (5).

  Superior Police want to remind drivers to obey all the speed limits in the construction zone on U.S. Hwy. 60. ADOT is paying the Superior Police to do extra patrol in the construction zones to enforce speed limits during working hours. Fines are double in the construction zone while workers are present.

The Superior Police and Fire Departments have contracted all dispatch services to the Pinal County Sheriff (POLICE) and Florence PD (FIRE). As a result of these changes, you need to know some new phone numbers.
