Superior Police Report – May 25, 2016

  According to state law, police may arrest suspected offenders by two methods. The suspect may be physically taken into the department and booked into jail, or the arresting officer may write a citation and release the suspect to appear in court later. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Only criminal citations are listed. All damage amounts are estimates.

  Items are given to The Superior Sun by the Superior Police Department and reflect information available at the time the report is compiled.

May 6

  A sex offense was reported in the 100 block of Panther Dr.

May 7

  Nathan Apodaca, 26, Supeiror, was arrested on a warrant issued by the Mesa Police Department for failure to pay. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail in Florence.

May 9

  A hit and run accident occurred in the 500 block of U.S. Hwy. 60.

  Vicente Arriola, 19, Superior, was arrested in the 300 block of Kellner Ave. and charged with aggravated assault. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Vincent M. Pasko, 23, Superior, was arrested on a felony failure to appear warrant issued by the Pima County Sheriff’s Office and on a misdemeanor warrant issued by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office for shoplifting. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

May 11

  Jaynae D. Homes, 26, San Carlos, was arrested in the area of U.S. Hwy. 60 and Church Ave. and was charged with possession of dangerous drugs, dangerous drugs for sale, transportation of dangerous drugs and misconduct involving a weapon. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Leo R. Newman, 44, Peridot, was arrested in the area of U.S. Hwy. 60 and Church Ave. and was charged with possession of dangerous drugs, dangerous drugs for sale, transportation of dangerous drugs and two counts of misconduct involving a weapon. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Daniel Hosteenez, 38, San Carlos, was arrested in the area of U.S. Hwy. 60 and Church Ave. and was charged with possession of dangerous drugs, dangerous drugs for sale, transportation of dangerous drugs and two counts of misconduct involving a weapon. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Criminal damage was reported in the 200 block of Crowe St.

  Carmelita E. Apodaca, 36, Superior, was arrested in the area of Western Ave. and Wilhoyt St. and was charged with possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

May 13

  Alvin C. Noline, 23, Superior, was arrested in the area of Gibbs St. and Church Ave. and was charged with shoplifting. He was cited and released.

  Daniel L. Yahraus, 57, Hayden, was arrested in the 800 block of Western Ave. and was charged with providing false information to law enforcement, driving on a suspended license and failure to produce identification. He was cited and released.

May 14

  Veronica M. Griego, 34, Superior, was arrested in the area of Main St. and Stone Ave. and was charged with resisting arrest and failure to provide identification. She was cited and released.

May 16

  Roberto P. Luz, 24, Superior, was arrested in the zero block of Pisano St. and was charged with trespassing. He was cited and released.

  Chance H. Hoyt, 21, Superior, was arrested in the 700 block of Brown St. and was charged with disorderly conduct-DV (domestic violence) and assault-DV. He was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Kermit V. Hoyt, 48, Superior, was arrested in the 700 block of Brown St. and was charged with disorderly conduct-DV. He was cited and released.

May 17

  Kelly K. Ross, 46, Superior, was arrested in the 700 block of Main St. on a felony warrant issued by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office for probation violation. She was transported and booked into the Pinal County Jail.

  Art Palomino, 48, Apache Junction, was arrested in the 500 block of U.S. Hwy. 60 and was charged with unlawful use of license. He was cited and released.

  Burglary was reported in the 400 block of U.S. Hwy. 60.

May 18

  Vehicle theft was reported in the 100 block of Gray Dr.

May 19

  An accident without injuries was reported at milepost 226 on U.S. Hwy. 60.

Calls not listed include traffic stop (61), welfare check (2), information (11), agency assist (4), animal complaint 34), civil matter (1), 911 hang-up (1), threats (3), fire (3), suspicious activity (7), missing person (1), citizen assist (1), attempt to locate (5), parking violation (1), alarm drop (9), utility problem (2), medical assist (1), city code violation (1), fraud (1) and disturbance (3).

  Superior Police want to remind drivers to obey all the speed limits in the construction zone on U.S. Hwy. 60. ADOT is paying the Superior Police to do extra patrol in the construction zones to enforce speed limits during working hours. Fines are double in the construction zone while workers are present.

The Superior Police and Fire Departments have contracted all dispatch services to the Pinal County Sheriff (POLICE) and Florence PD (FIRE). As a result of these changes, you need to know some new phone numbers.
