I am relatively new to Superior, and it’s an eye opener that so many people just let their dogs run loose.
This is all over town.
All sizes and breeds.
I had a loose dog try to bite my leg (got my shoe) while walking on Main Street recently. The owner was sitting right there, corralled the pup and beat feet out of there real quick. No leash was in evidence. I can’t ride a bicycle here in town without being harassed by loose dogs chasing me and trying to bite my legs and feet.
I am not the only one here with loose dog stories.
I refuse to take my own 2 dogs out on leash here in town because of this hazard. It is safer to take a pup out on the trail than it is on Main Street.
This practice is a genuine hazard. Someone will get hurt, and someone will get sued. This is inevitable, if this goes unchecked. No one is doing the pups any favors by letting them run loose. I see them dead on the road around here on occasion.
It’s right in the Superior town code: Section 7-3-2 Dogs or Cats “At Large” Prohibited. Town: Citations are in order.
Thank you.
