Rubalcaba graduates from NAU

Dylan Rubalcaba graduated from Northern Arizona University on May 9, 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Dylan graduated with honors earning Summa Cum Laude distinction. Dylan plans to continue his education in the Fall of 2015 at Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, in Pullman, Washington.

During his tenure at NAU, Dylan served as a Student Instructor (SI) in Biochemistry for four semesters, where duties included teaching and tutoring biochemistry students to help them understand and succeed in the Biochemistry programs at NAU. Dylan also was a Student Assistant in Statistics; some of the duties included tutoring students in the Statistics curriculum at NAU to help them succeed in the program.

In addition to his formal education, Dylan has volunteered in several animal and veterinary medicine programs, including volunteering at an animal shelter, a “raptor” program, and as a technician at a veterinary clinic. Dylan will continue to work as a veterinary technician until his departure to Washington State University in the Fall.

Dylan’s childhood ambition has always been to be a veterinarian as far back as the fifth grade when he began to focus on academics. He now joins the ranks of other family members who are also NAU alumni that including older brothers, Ramon III, and Skylar.
