A town is only as strong as it’s community. In hopes of creating a stronger cooperation and communication between the nonprofits, organizations, and clubs within the Town of Superior, the town, The Chamber of Commerce and Resolution Copper Company co-hosted a “Together we are Superior- Let’s Celebrate, Communicate & Collaborate get together.” There was a full house – a diverse mix of clubs, nonprofits and organizations who operate within the Town of Superior.

The meeting was held at the Magma Club. Representatives and members from the following organizations attended: Mayor, Council Members, Town Manager, Police Department, Chamber of Commerce, Resolution Copper Company, Historical Society, Optimist Club, Head Start Program, VFW, Superior Little League, Lost Trail, Recreational User Group, Senior Center, Social Club de Damas, Food Bank, Family Life Christian Center, Town Chaplain, Superior School Board Members, OMYA, Ladies Auxiliary, Copper Corridor Economic Development Coalition, Business Attraction Retention, and Woodmen Life.

Resolution Copper provided sandwiches and the Chamber of Commerce provided beverages for the participants. The meeting was an opportunity for everyone to mix and mingle and get to know each other. Each person was asked to introduce themselves and one representative from each organization was asked to give a short description about their group, it’s purpose and how their group impacts the Town of Superior.

To continue this new dialogue and cooperation there will be communication and collaboration meetings held every six weeks for a few months before they settle in to a quarterly meeting. A Facebook page will be established so the groups can communicate their needs and the monthly events they each have going on.
