The Arizona Republic announced its All-Division IV baseball and softball teams for the 2012 season on Sunday.
The Republic chooses the team based on interviews, coaches’ input, season statistics and reporter’s observations. Selected to this year’s All-Division IV baseball team from San Manuel was John Ruiz as a Second Team infielder. John is a junior and will be returning next year. Senior Vinnie Valdez was also selected to the team as honorable mention.
This year’s All-Division IV girls’ softball team included five players from the Lady Miners team. Selected as the All-Division IV Second Team pitcher was senior Emmy Lou Clark. Freshman Alyssa Cuellar was chosen for the Second Team as a utility player. Sophomore Mackenzie White was selected as honorable mention along with freshman players Felicia Medina and Mireya Tamayo.
The Miners will have a good nucleus returning for next season of four All-Division players.
