A special fund has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank for former Tri-Community resident Kimberly Montoya, 19, to assist her family with the costs of her hospital stay and her recovery following a tragic accident which claimed the life of her longtime boyfriend, Matthew Teschner, 19.

Montoya and Teschner were coming home from the White Mountains on Christmas Eve after snowboarding. Teschner’s vehicle missed a curve while driving through the Salt River Canyon on Highway 60 north of Globe. The vehicle plunged down a 1,000-foot cliff. Teschner died at the scene from his injuries. Montoya sustained life threatening injuries and was taken to a Scottsdale hospital.

The Montoya and Teschner families have expressed their gratitude to everyone who has rallied to give them support during their time of need and grief.

Donations can be made at any Wells Fargo branch. Indicate that the funds are for the “Kimberly Montoya Donation Fund.” Donations can also be mailed to: Kimberly Montoya Donation Fund, Wells Fargo, Oro Valley Office, Mac S4302-011, 10585 N. Oracle Rd., Tucson, AZ 85737.

“Thank you for all your prayers and support, greatly appreciated during our time of need,” said Kimberly’s aunt Mary Ann Montoya.
