Volunteers like these folks will soon clean the desert area around Superior.
Footprints Matter to Us and Natural Restorations have teamed up to organize and support a community cleanup event on Tonto National Forest land surrounding Superior at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016.
This is the second annual fall cleanup that has been organized on Tonto National Forest land by Footprints Matter with the support of the community of Superior.
Last year volunteers filled six 40-yard dumpsters to the brim with household dumping items as well as some target trash. Sixty volunteers spent several hours working together in assigned areas to remove the unsightly items from the desert.
Volunteers will again be supported with large equipment assigned to the specific targeted areas and many hands make light work.
Join us along with the Tonto National Forest – Globe District, Resolution Copper Communities, the Arizona Trail Association, Superior Chamber of Commerce, OMYA, and Right Away Disposal as we work together to restore the natural beauty of the desert and make our Footprints Matter.

About Footprints Matter to Us
Footprints Matter To Us is a community involvement organization supported by the communities of Gold Canyon and Superior, along with surrounding cities in Northern Pinal County to organize cleanup efforts, provide education to our youth, as well as continue to bring this awareness to our community. Our mission is two-fold: The first goal is to rid our beautiful desert of indiscriminately dumped trash and target shooting debris. Our second goal is to educate people about this illegal and unbecoming behavior. The current focus areas are between Gold Canyon and Superior on Arizona State Trust Land as well as the Hewitt Station area on Tonto National Forest lands.
Justin and Nicole Corey founded Natural Restorations to address the long-standing issues of trash and illegal dumping in natural areas across Arizona. We remove trash, graffiti and anything foreign to the environment from natural areas and provide hands-on service learning opportunities for youth and communities across Arizona. We host multiple volunteer cleanup events throughout the year and we want to launch a full-time restoration team that will provide employment opportunities to veterans and allow us to focus on areas that see continual dumping, remote and difficult to access areas, and areas where conditions are unsafe for volunteers. The Arizona Trail Association is our non-profit fiscal sponsor.
