We have all read/heard about the plight of the many Middle Eastern refugees, fleeing their homelands for parts of Europe, and other countries where they seek the ability to live without fear of persecution.
The Middle Eastern Presbyterian Fellowship, located in Tucson, is encouraging their fellowship to establish ministry teams for guiding and governing that include: caring, gathering, learning, tending and venturing ministries. The Tucson Refugee Ministry provides resources to participating churches: mentors, presentations, training, ESL materials, baby shower information, and much more.
You are invited to attend a presentation and discussion titled, “Partnering with the Tucson Refugee Ministry,” to be held on April 5, 2-3:30 p.m. at Mountain Shadows Presbyterian Church, 14240 N. Oracle Road (at the corner of Mountainaire Rd) in Catalina. Members of the ministry will be on hand to talk about the needs, myths, and realities of these people. There is no fee, and you are encouraged to bring a friend.
If you wish more information call the church at (520) 825-7858, or go to the website: www.mountainshadowschurch.org. At the moment, MSPC is waiting for details on a family that it may mentor, an exciting opportunity, and one that honors our mission to be centered in Christ, caring for community.
