Mary D. Aragon

  Mary D. Aragon, 92, passed in Tucson from natural causes on June 2, 2020.

  Mary  is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Josefa Dominguez; brothers, Pete and Izzy Dominguez; sister,Toni Bernardine; husband, Frank Aragon; and granddaughter, Catarina Gaona.     

  She is survived by sisters, Petra (Alfonso) Merino and Nicki Liliroth; brothers, Manuel, Ralph, Joe and Leo (Peg) Dominguez; children, Frank (Dorothy) Aragon, Annie (Nick) Gaona, Becky Ehle, Joe, Mike and Richard (Shila) Aragon; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

  Mary graduated high school in Animas, New Mexico. She worked as a waitress in Lordsburg, where she met Frank, her husband. Thereafter, Mary was a homemaker, raising her six children in New Mexico, then in San Manuel. She also worked a short time at San Pedro Valley Pizza with her son, when they first opened. 

  Mary enjoyed walking for exercise when she was able and walked with her friends, at times, throughout San Manuel. She liked to sew and took up quilting with some of her friends from the community, making quilts for some of her grandchildren, when she was able to.  Mary and Frank were members of the choir at St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church and after Frank’s passing she still sang with them for a short time.

  “You touched the lives of so many, family and friends. You will be missed by us all, Mary, our mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend. Rest in peace.”

  Services will be held at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 7570 N. Paseo del Norte in Tucson June 15 at 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place directly after the funeral mass services, at Holy Hope Cemetery.      

  Funeral services provided by Adair Funeral Homes, Avalon Chapel.
