The 11th Annual Prickly Pear Festival will be held this Saturday.  Event organizer Pete Casillas reported online via a Facebook video that this year the foraging would be cancelled as there is not enough prickly pear fruit to harvest at the Airport.

Vendors will be open throughout Downtown Superior at both indoor and outdoor locations  between Besich Park and the Magma Hotel Tea Room.  The pancake breakfast is scheduled for Saturday morning and will be held at the Silver King Smokehouse.

Many of the local restaurants will be having prickly pear flavored foods and drinks.  Entertainment will also be ongoing with throughout the day, along with guest speakers and educational seminars.  The Boyce Thompson Arboretum is also hosting a few activities, admission will be required.

An Edible Desert Dinner will also be hosted Saturday evening at the Superior Senior Center.  Tickets are $45 and the menu features a variety of foods prepared by local vendors of the Superior Farm to Fantastic Market.

For updated information please visit the Prickly Pear Festival webpage online: https://pricklypearfestsuperior.com or call Pete Casillas directly at 520-827-0692.
