Ray High Bearcats

The Ray baseball team is on some kind of roll right now. The Bearcats posted a 14-run first inning against San Carlos on Mar. 15, leading to a 17 – 4 victory, their third-straight lopsided win.

The Bearcats, who have averaged 16 runs per game in their last three games, all wins, pounded 15 hits against the Braves. Jaden Pace and Fabian Valenzuela each had three hits and were two of five Cats to have at least two hits in the game. Pace, who doubled and tripled, drove in two runs while Valenzuela, who hit a double, had a game-high four RBI.

Jordan Pace (two doubles), Brett Fackiner (two RBI) and Richard Valenzuela had two hits apiece in the win. Anthony Acuna, a senior, had a hit and two RBI in the Cats’ sixth win of the season.

Starting pitcher Richard Valenzuela earned his second win of the year following a two-inning no-hit, no-run outing. The junior fanned six and allowed a single walk before giving way to Fabian Valenzuela for the final three innings of relief.
