The Ray football team was set to host Baboquivari in Kearny last Friday night, but the Warriors never arrived.
There were conflicting reports regarding Baboquivari’s no show for Friday’s game, but the end result was a forfeit victory for Ray, which improves the Bearcats record to 2 – 2 on the season.
Head coach Frank Lechuga acknowledged the week off will ultimately benefit his team.

“It’s good because it will allow some of our players to come back this week fully healthy,” he said. “We’ll get right back to it this week with everyone healthy.”
Ray will travel to Lake Havasu City to take on Telesis Prep this Friday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Ray High School Marching Band entertains the crowds while officials determined where the other team was.
