David William (Bill) Walters, of Kearny, passed away Monday, April 20 in his home in Kearny Bill was born October 17, 1937 in Cambridge, Ohio to Rachel and Charles Walters.
He spent four years in the Navy as a flight captain on Ticonderoga Naval ship, traveling to Korea and the Philippines. In 1964, he left the service with honorable discharge and began working for ASARCO and retired after 25 years. During Bill’s retirement, he loved to travel and fish.
Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years, Brenda Walters; three children; Doug (Stephanie) Walters of Connecticut, Rochelle (Rene) Pacheco of Kearny and Shawn (Jennifer) Walters of Kearny; six grandchildren: Mai and Eli Walters of Connecticut, Derek and Jaylen Pacheco of Kearny and Crysta and Joshua Walters of Kearny.
Services were held in Dudleyville at The Double U Ranch on April 25. Special people that gave their kindness were Ray High School’s ROTC for their 21 gun salute, taps, and the American Legion for the flag ceremony. Bill’s nephew, David Hawkins of Nevada, performed the services and Bill’s grandson, Derek Pacheco gave the eulogy. Those in attendance were Bill’s sisters Peg Stevenson of Oracle, Pat Mitchell of Tucson and brother, Ted Walters of Texas.
