The Gold Canyon Arts Council seeks FESTIVAL POSTER ARTISTS

PURPOSE:

The Gold Canyon Arts Council, presents the annual Gold Canyon Arts Festival which always includes a commemorative poster. The following is a request for artists to produce an original piece of art that will be transformed into an arts poster available at the Canyon Sounds concert series and the 16th Annual Gold Canyon Arts Festival held on January 23, 2016. Three examples of our 2013, 2014, and 2015 winners are attached, or go to www.gcartsfest.com, click on Poster Information, and see all the posters that have been selected over the past 10 years.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

Using media of your choice, (drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, pottery, etc.), create a submission that reflects the:
· Canyon Sounds concert programs which are vibrant with music, dance and drama, or
· Gold Canyon Arts Festival with the colorful display of booths and people, or
· Beauty of our local Sonoran Desert
Please submit your work in a photograph. You may reference a web site as indicative of your work, but do not direct the committee there to see a particular piece. Please prepare your own submission copy for presentation to the committee.

SUBMISSION:

Please send a representation of your artwork (at least 8 x 10) to:
Canyon Rose Storage
Attn: Festival Poster Committee
6405 S. Kings Ranch Road
Gold Canyon, AZ 85118
For contact purposes, include your name, address, phone and e-mail. Individual artists may send three (3) proposals for consideration. Upon request, submitted art and photographs will be placed at Canyon Rose Storage for return.
For further inquiries contact Carole Lindemann at carbill5@mchsi.com

TIMING:

Deadline for submission is SEPTEMBER 1, 2015
Final selection is September 18, 2015
The committee may wish to view the actual artwork as part of the judging process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The selected artist is expected to contribute the rights to use the representation for advertising and be available at the Canyon Sounds concerts for poster signing. The poster may be titled at the discretion of the artist. There also will be prominent visibility for other works the artist desires to display at the 2016 Canyon Arts Festival on Saturday, January 23, 2016.

Selection of the poster design provides visibility and name recognition for the artist. Don’t miss this opportunity to put your art on permanent display with the community.
