The San Manuel Airport is undergoing renovations as part of the first project of the new master plan for the airport.
First up are the ramp and taxi areas, which are being repaved. Plans include shaded tie downs on the apron allowing for covered parking for planes. It is a 150-day project funded by grants from the Arizona Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration.
The renovation and expansion of the San Manuel Airport will improve safety at the airport and attract people and business to the area. There are currently 23 people on the waiting list for hangars at the airport.
